There are quite a few budget friendly fall and winter design and decorating ideas that can make your house more appealing to the buyers and guests. Decorating your home with the season does not have to be expensive. There are a lot of budget friendly design tips that can keep your home inviting for both guests and buyers.

1)  Warm up your lake home by adding rich warm color accents to the living areas.
It is getting cold outside, so visually warm up your home by placing accent pillows and throws throughout the living space. Another important feature to think about when shopping around for pillows and throws is the type of fabric, more
specifically texture of the pillow or throw. In the summer light weight fabrics are perfect, but in the fall and winter heavier more textured fabrics produce a sensual feeling of warmth (velvet, flannel and wool). When placing your new throws and blankets do not be afraid to layer colors and textures to create your perfect warm living space!

2)  Swap out your spring and summer lampshades!
You have already added warm touches of color to your home with accent pillows and throws, now it should be easy to pick out lampshades that match your new winter color scheme. HGTV suggest you can even stencil your current lampshades to save money. They also tell you how to create your own lampshades! This could be a fun activity to do as family when it gets too cold here at the Lake for the kids to go outside.
