New-Home Sales Soar to 5-Year High
With the housing marketing having gone through the recession that it did, new construction homes had slowed significantly. A new report released by Realtor Magazine shows that new construction homes sales have reached a 5 year high. This is a great sign of what the housing market is doing and where it is going. All signs are pointing up at this point. Unemployment is lowering, job creation is soaring, and with this consumer confidence is starting to rise as well.
In my local market at the Lake of the Ozarks, we are still in a sellers market but all of the trends are showing that a buyers market may be right around the corner. The excess inventory is starting to sell, prices are up 6% on average, and sales are up 21%. With rates still being at all time lows, buying a home has never been more affordable.
